Upgrade your high-horsepower 2003-2007 Ford 6.0L Powerstroke with the XDP X260 Series Head Stud Kit XD3002HS. The XD260 Series head studs are ideal for any high-performance, racing, or sled pulling application. With only four head bolts per cylinder, and just 10 per bank, the 6.0 engine is well-known for cylinder head gasket issues.

When adding significant horsepower and torque to your Powerstroke upgrading the factory head bolts is a necessity to avoid a lifted cylinder head, or a failed head gasket, due to factory bolt stretch. The threads are rolled after heat-treating to provide optimum fatigue strength.

The Competition Series head studs are rated at an upgraded 260,000 plus psi tensile strength to ensure the cylinder heads on your engine stay locked in place under even the highest combustion pressures.

In addition to the upgraded strength, replacing the OEM head bolts with studs also allows you to obtain a more accurate torque reading. A conventional bolt gets twisted as it is tightened, so it reacts to two different forces at the same time.

With a head stud the force gets applied to the vertical axis, resulting in a more even clamping force. Another benefit of studs is they can allow for easier engine assembly and proper alignment of the cylinder heads every time.

These studs are a must-have for high-performance applications and are reusable, unlike the OEM Torque-To-Yield (TTY) bolts which must be replaced after each use. These head studs are manufactured in an ISO/TS 16949 quality control facility.

For a hassle-free installation, each set includes installation instructions. Assembly lubricant sold separately.

Tech Tips:
Inner Row Head Bolts (Sold Separately):
The XDP Inner Row Head Bolt Kit XD3020HB allows you to complete the job without having to reuse the factory bolts, or source a new set while your engine is torn down. Inner row head bolts secure the intake side of the cylinder head to the engine block and help to properly complete the factory bolt torque sequence.

XDP Thread Cleaning Chasers (Sold Separately):
Both the XD40126TC (for head studs), and XD40128TC (for inner row bolts) are a great add-on that will be critical during installation. Thread Cleaning Chasers are an excellent tool to have on-hand to ensure you have properly cleaned the threads in your engine block before the installation of any fasteners. Clean threads provide accurate torque readings and will help give you peace of mind during your engine build or head gasket repair.

XDP X-TRA Slick Engine and Fastener Assembly Lubricant (Sold Separately):
The use of XD541 is highly recommended during engine assembly. Apply XDP X-TRA Slick Lubricant to head studs, head bolts, main studs, main bolts, connecting rod bolts, and any other fasteners used during engine assembly. Using a proper assembly lubricant during fastener installation reduces friction and torque pre-load scatter in the torquing sequence, while also helping to prevent thread galling and seizing.

    In-stock parts usually ship within 1 to 2 business days from warehouses across the USA. The stock line under the options tells you the status of the part you are looking at. Large items ship LTL freight and we call to schedule delivery.

  • Why did I only get part of my order?

    We ship from multiple warehouses, so an order with several items can arrive in more than one box. Tracking for each shipment is emailed as it goes out. Full details in the shipping policy.

  • What is a core deposit?

    Some remanufactured parts, like injectors and turbos, carry a refundable core deposit. It is shown on the product page when it applies and refunded when your old part comes back to us.
